Component 2
Organization of Materials
Knowing what you have, knowing where it is, and having easy access to it creates a more efficient classroom. Instructional time is not wasted looking for what you need for instruction, and students have less downtime which decreases misbehavior. A classroom that is disorganized and has a “Where did I put it?” look is a classroom that will not run as smoothly as it might if it was organized. Your students rely on you, their teacher, to create an environment that is orderly and organized so they can function independently. Teaching and learning are the priority – not spending time looking for materials.
