There are three different types of schedules that are critical to the success of your students. These schedules should be posted, easily accessible, and used in all special education classrooms. The three types of schedules are:
- Daily Classroom Schedule
- Staff Assignment Schedule
- Individual Student Schedule
Each of the three types of schedules serves a different purpose, and all three are needed in each classroom. Having all students and staff members use schedules makes such a difference in a classroom in terms of providing structure, consistency, and accountability that they cannot be ignored. In addition, schedules help to organize the day, are helpful for indicating when changes are made to the usual schedule, and are a means for teaching valuable life skills to all students.
