We know that behavior problems can take up valuable teaching time and that they do not get better or go away without a plan of action. For students who exhibit intense behaviors, specific strategies need to be developed and used consistently throughout the day to affect changes in students’ behaviors.
No doubt, there can be one student who is more difficult to reach and teach than others. But just as none of these 10 Critical Components stand alone, neither is misbehavior a standalone issue. When all the components are in place behavior concerns decrease, and student behavior improves.
